2、莫言先生的小说中充满了文化负载词，这些文化负载词也是翻译过程中一个重要障碍。本文从葛浩文翻译的《红高粱》入手，通过文化负载词翻译的具体实例，从归化与异化两种翻译策略入手，研究文化负载词的翻译方法。

The translated version by Ge Haowen becXXe one of the success factors that Mo Yan gained the 2012 Nobel Prize in Literature. Mo Yan’s Red Sorghum contains a large number of dialects, idioms, folk songs and other culture- specific items to portray characters and reflect local cusXXXs. In order to not only restore both characters’ iXXges and cultural features, but also gain a wider range of English readers, Ge Haowen has the attempts on a variety of translation strategies and XXintains the original language effect to XXke Mo Yan’s works more prevailing to the literature world.

4、This thesis will be a case study of Red Sorghum for its translated version, and it will XXXXyze how Ge Haowen translates culture-specific items and restore the original cultural style at the sXXe time and enhances the authenticity of this work. This thesis first describes Mo Yan and his Red Sorghum, and then illustrates Ge Haowen’s basic translation strategies from the aspect of classification of culture-specific items. Next, the thesis will XXXXyze Mo Yan’s application of culture-specific items like dialects or idioms. Finally, it will interpret some concrete exXXples for detailing the methods and principles of Ge Haowen’s translation.?
